We started this day with a visit to Seljalandsfoss, which is a huge waterfall
that you can walk completely around, due to the open cavern behind it. Then we
headed to Vík, with a stop to see some puffins, and transferred to a special
“Superjeep” vehicle to get to the Kötlujökull glacier.
The weather this day, as with much of the Iceland trip, was cold with on and off
rainy spells, plus needing rain gear near waterfalls even when it was not
actually raining, and then taking off the rain gear so it would not get
uncomfortable in the van.
On the way back, we passed American
Schoolbus Cafe. I did not get a good photograph if it, but it is what it
sounds like: a yellow American schoolbus by the side of the road, with a café
inside.
